Bournemouth Terrace

The design is made up of 3 boxes, the solid polished black concrete lower “pillbox” base, the central 2 storey vertical black Accoya and the floating lightweight glass "conservatory".

The claddings are a mix of polished black pebble precast concrete and black vertical Accoya timber along with the black joinery and louvres. All of which are suited to the harsh coastal environment.

Full 3.0m high stacker sliding doors disappear into the walls opens up the spectacular views of Rangitoto Island and the surrounding gulf.

Due to the site coverage restrictions the idea was to make as few walls as possible, so the outdoor living felt part of the indoor living space, creating a much larger and free flowing integration of the 2 spaces.
